Here are MY top tips to save money on groceries
Plan Your Meals and Make a Shopping List: Before going to the store, plan your meals for the week. My usual strategy is to plan supper for at least 5 days. I ask my daughter what she wants in her lunches for the week and I also add in items for breakfast, then I make a detailed shopping list based on the ingredients I need. Stick to the list to avoid impulse purchases.
Shop in Bulk for Non-Perishable Items: Buying items like rice, pasta, canned goods, and frozen foods in bulk can often be more cost-effective than buying smaller quantities. Just make sure you have enough storage space at home. We are lucky enough to have a Bulk Barn close to us, but most stores have a bulk section. Please also compare these prices between stores.
Compare Prices and Look for Deals: Compare Flyers!!!! (more on that below) Take the time to compare prices between different brands and stores. Look for sales, discounts, and coupons to save money on items you regularly buy.
My favourite tip: Go to the “plain” grocery store, you know, the one that looks a bit like a warehouse. One without all the bells and whistles. Trust me, there will be less impulse purchasing and you will save money every time!!
Buy Seasonal Produce and Store Brands: Seasonal fruits and vegetables are usually cheaper and fresher. Additionally, consider buying store brands or generic products, as they are often less expensive than name brands but can be of similar quality.
Avoid Shopping When Hungry: Shopping on an empty stomach can lead to impulse buying and purchasing unnecessary items. Eat a meal or snack before heading to the store to help you stick to your shopping list and budget.

I’m going to RANT for just a minute. You can't keep going to the same 1 store every week and think, "Well that is just what groceries cost!" Totally not a valid thought!
Every Store has a flyer, check them ALL out! Seriously.
Just because it is on sale at one store doesn't mean that is the lowest price available. Check ALL the flyers out. I’m not joking.
You will need to shop at a minimum of 2 different stores every week but you will save $$ EVERY time. I have been known to go to 4 different stores in one shop. Also not joking!
Done Ranting.
